I used this to secure a power strip to a metal roll cart, and the locking tab would not hold when tried to snug it up really tight. The lock gave away a step or two, and held at that position, ultimately doing the job, but not as snug as I would have liked.Still, this represents a good value and the quality is just okay. 3.5 / 5 stars rounded up to 4.I was pleased to find these ties in a heavy-duty thickness and 12-inch length. Locally I can only find a thinner 8-inch length. I live "out in the country" and use cable ties outdoors for maintaining fencing and gates -- lengths of fencing are fastened to the barred gates to keep dogs in and varmints out. In the hot summer sun, the ties succumb to plastic fatigue and snap in two, requiring frequent replacement. In wooded areas, limbs fall onto fences pulling them loose from the metal fence posts. Longer cable ties make it easier to pull the deformed sections of fence back together and against the posts. I have limited hand strength and cannot easily manipulate the more usual metal ties. I won't know until next summer whether these thicker ties will actually hold up better in the hot sun, but for now the extra length is great for my needs.I use zip ties often especially for securing wires and cables. While I do like to use short ones when I can lately I have had the need for longer ones to reach around what I need to attach to. It's easy to trim them off with a pair of wire cutters. These are about 5/16 inches wide so they won't fit into tight spaces. Great overall.
